It's not the re-opening of this beautiful site, it's not the birthday celebration of our President Jefferson Davis, it is the undefined devotion of the Southern Resolve to preserve our place in history, (Stand Fast Mississippians). The dedication of the Directors of Beauvoir, Mississippi Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Department of Archives and History, FEMA, MEMA, researchers, workers and many, many others; we commend you. Guests from as far away as Germany attended this event today and everyone will always remember this historic site for future generations. We sincerely thank everyone for their help and assistance in this restoration. Brig. General Joseph "Jo" Orville Shelby, CSA, Iron Brigade, Missouri. aka: Frank N.Egger, ChaplainQuartermaster Gainesville Volunteers, SCV Camp 373, Picayune, Ms.
